Crisis Services West: alternative home provision in and around Glasgow and The West

For 11- to 18-year-olds in acute crisis, the Includem West Crisis Resource Service provides short-term, fully staffed accommodation in ordinary housing.

Our resources enable young people to weather crises without resorting to destructive behaviour. The service, available 24 hours a day, complements existing intensive support systems. It includes provision for emergency accommodation and is linked to move-on short-term accommodation but is not a traditional residential institution.

Each young person is managed through an individually risk -assessed support plan that will have been agreed with the placing social worker and our duty manager at the point of crisis.

The service provides for young people already known to Includem where the referrer’s view is that this will be integral to the successful outcomes

The service also provides for new referrals. These are cases where the skills required in approaching hard-to-reach young people and the holistic approach of Includem are considered central to success.

In addition tailored wraparound services for high risk and vulnerable young people (including with sexually inappropriate behaviour) can be developed at short notice.
